What is involved

  • When we work together, we take a thorough approach, delving deep into what’s happening on a cellular level to uncover the root cause of your symptoms. This involves a comprehensive clinical consultation, physical examinations, and often routine blood tests to help pinpoint answers and track the effectiveness of our treatment. In some cases, further testing may be needed to eliminate guesswork and provide a clear path forward. After our consultation, we will research and integrate evidence-based medicine to ensure your treatment plan is fully supported by the latest scientific findings.

  • The goal of naturopathic medicine is to restore the body to its natural state of balance, known as homeostasis, which supports the body’s innate ability to heal. Unlike conventional approaches, which play an important role in medicine, they can focus on masking symptoms. We differ in aiming to address the deeper underlying causes and assist your body in regaining equilibrium.

We start by focusing on diet and lifestyle changes, as these are foundational to health. However, when the body has been in an extended state of imbalance —particularly in cases of chronic pain or illness—natural interventions may be necessary to aid healing. This is where nutritional and herbal medicines become essential components of your treatment, providing the support needed until your body returns to a state of optimal health.

The duration of treatment is unique to each individual. While some may require short term support, others may need long term care. Through ongoing monitoring and assessment, we will adjust your plan as needed to ensure it aligns with your progress and health goals.

  • Nutritional medicine is used to address deficiencies caused by factors such as genetic predispositions, nutrient depleted soil, and environmental and lifestyle factors. By incorporating specific vitamins and minerals into your treatment plan, we can help restore balance and support optimal body function. The goal is also to work on using food as medicine during this time, allowing you to absorb vital nutrients from your diet for lasting health and vitality.

  • Plant medicine has been used by our ancestors for centuries, with traditional healing practices rooted in the wisdom of ancient cultures around the world. Many modern medicines are derived from plants, showcasing the herbal healing and its vital role in supporting health. Each plant contains unique phytochemicals that interact with our biological systems in specific ways, helping to restore balance and promote health.

For example, Passiflora incarnata [passionflower] is an anxiolytic herb we often incorporate into treatment plans for stress and anxiety. Passionflower supports the body's natural ability to produce GABA - a neurotransmitter that functions as a natural anti-anxiety hormone - essential for promoting restful sleep and calming the nervous system.

Each client receives a personalised treatment plan that often includes plant-based medicine, tailored dietary guidance, and lifestyle adjustments. Our goal is to help clients achieve optimal mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, which plant medicine can assist in.

  • Your commitment and mindset are important for success, but patience is also essential. We collaborate to address any challenges and find practical solutions that make changes more manageable for you.

Change takes time, and the journey to better health is often gradual for long-term changes. Research shows new habits typically take 21 to 66 days to form, with many dietary changes showing benefits within 2 to 4 weeks. However, more significant improvements may take 3 to 6 months. Remember, each journey is unique; factors such as age, genetics, and the duration of existing health concerns can influence how quickly you experience change.

Continuing our consultations is an integral part of this lifelong journey, as we adapt and grow together toward your long-term health and wellness goals.
